5 ways to boost your bank balance and your income

We live in unpredictable times, with many of us worrying about our income and being able to save for a rainy day. Whether you have dreams of owning your own property one day or you want to save up for something special, having the financial freedom to chase your goals and turn your dreams into a reality is something we all have in common.

However, with everyone else seemingly trying to earn more money by getting more shifts or taking on a second job, our ability to make more money can seem a little difficult. But that’s not always the case. There are ways you can make your money work for you, boost your bank balance and your income, without losing more of your free time and adding more stress to your already hectic working life. Want to know more? Read on for 5 ways to boost your bank balance and your income.

Take advantage of an ISA

Taking advantage of a stocks and shares ISA from Wealthify is a simple and effective way of making your money work for you whilst creating a little financial fallback for yourself. You can save or invest as much (up to £20,000) or as little as you like, and you don’t have to pay any tax on your savings, meaning your money is yours. Click the link to find out more.

Sell used items online

You know what they say, one man’s trash is another man’s treasure. And right now that couldn’t be truer! The amount of clothes, items, ornaments and furniture we decide we don’t want anymore is staggering, so much so you could be making additional income within a couple of weeks. Head to charity shops and second-hand stores, even jumble and garage sales to see what people no longer want. Pay as low as possible for it, take it home, spruce it up and sell it on. Try eBay, Facebook market place or even Craigslist.

Monetize a hobby

Do you love making cards? Or creating handmade clothes for your children? If you have a hobby or something that you do for fun that you could be charging for, then why not give it a go? Your skills and hobbies like drawing, painting, crafting or sewing could land you a significant income boost.

Try a side hustle

If you’ve got some free time, or you don’t mind putting in the extra hours after work then a side hustle could work for you. Cleaning, freelance blogging or voice work, selling cakes or home bakes, dog walking or even house sitting. Some of the most successful companies and brands started at the kitchen table!

Try creating tutorials

Got a decent camera and some editing software? If so, you can try earning money by creating some tutorial videos on YouTube. Whether it’s how to change a tire, change a diaper really quickly or create an elaborate hairstyle, YouTube tutorials are big business and the more views you get, the more potential income you could be earning.
