Guide to buying your first Rolex

Once men hit a milestone, the first thing they want to reward themselves with is a Rolex. If you want to feel you’ve achieved, get a submariner or a Datejust; that will help you recall you did something spectacular. Regardless of anyone’s opinion, everyone agrees that no collection is complete without a Rolex watch. This type of watch has been the cornerstone of any entry-level watch for decades now. The robust and reliable watches have given the brand a name. The right one is a stainless steel model that increases its value or maintains it.

How do you buy your first Rolex?

Many buyers of Rolex are not aficionados, but they are familiar with the brand and confident enough to plunge and get a nice watch.

Here are questions you ask when buying Rolex for the first time

Is the watch fit for my style?

Rolex is a go-to watch for anyone. However, you’ve to consider how often you want to wear the watch and your preferred dress style; casual or a dressy style. But what has made the Rolex brand get this far are the sports watches and not the dress ones. They were initially not intended for suits and formal outfits, although many people use it for such purposes.

Can I afford a Rolex?

The price tag for Rolex is high, and therefore you need to consider the cost first before you buy. This is not one thing that you want to put in your credit cards and make some fashion purchase. Just save up some money, and when you’ve enough, you can proudly buy it.

Am I buying the Rolex for the right reasons?

Are you buying for someone or yourself? Are you buying it for a status symbol, or do you just like the look? Will you be wearing the watch frequently? Buy a watch that you will need to wear most of the time; that makes the cost per wear low.

New, pre-owned, or vintage?

Buying a new Rolex is pretty straightforward; you pay, get the product, boxes, and anything you need. There’s peace of mind in buying a new one, but of course, you’ve to be ready to pay a good chunk of money. But you may be the type that loves vintage things; you love the old leather strap or that worn-out look. In that case, a vintage watch will do for you. Vintage has remained relevant for the last 30 years while the antique is over a century older. Rolex was not popular for many years, but recent years have seen the watch prices spike.

What’s your size?

The size of the watch matters, and therefore choosing the right size should be a priority. The size must be proportional, just like your dressing. If your wrist is slim, you will need a smaller watch, and for a big wrist, you’ll need a bigger watch. However, there’s always a tendency to wear big, which is also okay, but shouldn’t be too big for it to look flashy and elegant.

Choosing a Rolex watch that befits you is not Rocket science. All you need is to have a few tips with you. Look for a reputable Rolex shop and choose a watch that befits you. Remember, Rolex is expensive, and therefore, you must have saved enough; avoid the credit card as possible- it’s a luxury after all.
