Hipmunk Hotels: Summer Beer Festivals in the Mountain States from Boise to Reno

The post below was originally published on Around the World in KT Days by Katie.

The Mountain States have a reputation for being hotspots in the winter. As some of the best skiing destinations in the U.S., their wintertime popularity makes sense. But that doesn’t mean you should disregard the Mountain States in the summer. The shoulder seasons might be chilly and fraught with unpredictable weather, but the Mountain States are worth a visit in the summer.

For me, summer in the mountains means camping, hiking, horseback riding, and beer drinking. Summer isn’t summer without a good, old-fashioned beer festival. There’s something about the warm weather and days filled with outdoor activities and sunshine that just make me want to celebrate with some good beer. These five beer festivals are worth adding to your summer plans. Enjoy them to the fullest by reserving a room at a nearby hotel and staying the night.

Forget snakes on a plane. Worry about the germs. Research shows that air travelers are at a higher risk for infection than people going about their daily lives.

Just how are illnesses spread on a plane? It comes down to two main factors: Airborne germs that are easily inhaled by people sitting in close quarters, or contact with germ-riddled surfaces on the plane. These factors are exacerbated by the dry conditions typical of airplanes, because viruses prefer low-humidity environments.
