Can I Be Your Proxy?

A number of travelogues partner with PayPal and ask you to donate your hard earned dollars.  Doing this makes me feel slightly uncomfortable.

I’m not entirely against self-promotion or marketing, but wouldn’t it hurt less  if I offer something in return?  You’ll gain amusement and I’ll feel less dishonest.

During my travels I’m offering to be your proxy.  Maybe you’re at the beginning stages of planning that round-the-world trip, perhaps you long to escape the cubicle, but aren’t quite ready.  What’s delightful about travel are the random encounters or spontaneous happenstance that occurs.

Hire me to be your vicarious puppet.  What does being your proxy entail?

• Attempt a sport you’ve always wanted to try.
• Eat an exotic food that you can’t eat at the moment.
• Take a mode of transportation you’ve always been curious about.
• Strike up a conversation with a cute [insert country] fella.

I propose to do these activities, then write about them, in your place.
